  • Dr. Rob Celebrates 30 Years of Great Vision and Great Patients! - 30 years ago in February two brothers opened their clinic. Their plan was simple: treat patients like people, not numbers or charts. Their philosophy flew in the face of current thinking which was, that in order to be more successful, doctors needed to see more patients per hour and spend less time with each one.Did they have growing pains? You bet! As a matter of fact, their first receptionist was their mom! Yet over the years their practices grew. They remodeled, redecorated, moved and re-established themselves. But the one thing they never did was forget why they started their practices to begin with: to help patients feel and see better. Now one of the brothers is gone. He is missed by family, friends and patients alike; but his practice lives on. The other brother continues to do what he loves and has always tried to stay true to their early beginnings; treat one patient at a time and give the best care possible. At this juncture in my career, I wish to thank my family for all their support and my terrific patients for trusting in me. I am looking forward to many more years to continue to both maintain and always earn that trust. Thank you.

  • Dr. Rob Celebrates 25 Years of Helping People See! - And, You made it possible! In 1984, two brothers had the dream of changing health care in the Northwest suburbs. An Optometrist and a Chiropractor had the idea that patients should not be treated like numbers, their problems should be listened to, and treatment approaches that met their needs and lifestyles should be acted upon. For 25 years this philosophy has been the hallmark of the first boutique-type practice in this area. And now, with this milestone being achieved, we look forward to our next 25 years!! New Law Requires Eye Exams for Kids. As of January 1, 2008 students enrolling in or transferring into Illinois schools (both public and private) must show proof of having had a comprehensive eye exam. The General Assembly in Springfield determined that only qualified eye doctors — such as Optometrists and ophthalmologists — can conduct these exams. With the support of the Illinois Federation of Teachers, Illinois became the third state to enact such a law. “Clear and comfortable vision is essential for learning, and this new law will help Illinois children succeed and reach their full potential,” said Ed Geppert, Jr., president of the IFT. Comprehensive eye exams (unlike vision screenings which test only for visual acuity or clarity of sight) are the best way to diagnose eye and vision problems in children early, before they interfere with a child’s ability to learn. These exams are critical for the early intervention needed to treat eye disease and disorders such as amblyopia (“lazy eye”), crossed eyes, and unrecognized refractive errors that can lead to poor school performance.Orthokeratology still remains the best method to slow down and in some cases even halt progressive myopia. Saturday and morning appointments are best for testing children’s eyes (when they’re “fresh”), call today for your child’s appointment, 847-705-7777.
